About me…
“More freedom to paint how I feel!”
“Painting a song!” Part of a lesson for the Find Your Joy online art course with Louise Fletcher.
Barb was fortunate enough to reside in her birth town of Victoria, British Columbia from 1990 until recently relocating to Calgary, Alberta. After a career in Nursing, she retired in 2017, and began her art journey in Watercolour, and is now pursuing her passion for Mixed Media Art.
Barb has shown and sold her work at many local Victoria venues including the Sooke Fine Arts Show, Gage Gallery, TD Moss Street Paint-In, Arts & Culture Colwood, Scattered Artists Tours, ArtSea Studio Tour, and the EJ Hughes Gallery in Duncan.
Barb has been an active member of a number of local art groups that have represented her work over the last 4 years, including the Gage Gallery Arts Collective located in Bastion Square, Victoria, British Columbia, where she was an active member for over 3 years.
The old Pendray House, circa 1927, has served as many establishments in the past, including the old Coast Collective Arts Collective. I had the priviledge to create out of my little studio by the sea for over 4 years before recently relocating to Calgary, Alberta.
What does the future hold? After a busy Fall and Winter selling my little condo in Victoria and buying a house and moving to Calgary, I can’t wait to get painting again! I have a wonderful space to play in, and can’t wait to get it all set up once my contents arrive at the end of December, 2025! After an almost 6 month hiatus, I feel an urge for something different, and I’m excited! Follow me on social media and look for upcoming YouTube videos of how all this is going to take shape. I can’t wait to share what happens with you! See you on the other side as they say.
