I couldn’t be more thrilled to be participating, for the first time, in this iconic annual event. The Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society (SPAC) is a non-profit organization celebrating its 71st Anniversary in 2024. One of its main roles is to promote member artists and their work. SPAC’s annual Spring Art Show, held at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney, is its premier event.

Goldfinch Art Space will showcase our community artists from all over South Vancouver Island. These are our Visual Artists, members of our Society. A group art show featuring the work of artists Alison Taylor, Barb DeRousie, Elaine Hughes, and Linda Kirstein—”Four Winds”. Situated in Tulista Park in “Sidney by the Sea”, ArtSea is great little gallery to stop into while on a relaxing stroll along the waterway. Opening reception will be on Saturday, June 3rd from 2-4 pm with complimentary beverage and treats. This is a group exhibition that turns over every few months. Currently I have 12 pieces on exhibit, all 12 x 12, except one. Come on by and have a look! Open weekdays till 5 pm.

My process almost always involves many layers of paint-putting on and taking away-as well as collage elements, building up the surface and responding to what happens until it feels complete.

Now in its 26th year, Arts & Music in the Gardens is one of the most well-loved festivals in Victoria, BC. Featuring live music on three stages and fifty + artists, including myself, you will enjoy wonderful creative, local talents. Set with the backdrop of nine acres of demonstration gardens you will have the opportunity to explore as well as be entertained.
